Village Manager


Your Village Manager Emma Dumond has been working in the role since June 2019.  Originally from Jersey in the Channel Islands, Emma moved to Australia with her young family in 2011.  Upon moving to Australia Emma was employed at Dee Why RSL, moving her way up to the position of the DYRSL CEO’s Executive Assistant.  With a background in administration and health care Emma brings with her extensive knowledge and excellent administration skills.  Emma has an open door policy and looks forward to forging friendships with residents, their families and friends.




Your Concierge Karen Nel has been working in this role since August 2016.  Karen was previously employed at Dee Why RSL over 15 years ago, and we are delighted that she has returned and is now working as the Concierge at the Village.  Karen is here to assist all Residents whether it be with general apartment queries, Resident care, or to facilitate the Village’s many varied social programs.  Karen is a highly valued team member to the staff, and also is a great friend and support to all our Residents and their families. Please come by and introduce yourself to Karen.




Your Village Handyman Russell Newman has been employed at the Village since opening in 2010.  Russell is on hand to keep the village looking and operating to its maximum potential, and assists in the supervision of maintenance contractors including window cleaners, removalists, waste management and general common area cleaning.  The pride he takes in his work is shown through the excellent presentation of the Village which is acknowledged by Residents, their families, guests and visitors.  The Rotary Club of Dee Why has also recognised Russell’s pride and commitment to the village and awarded him the “Pride in Workmanship” award.


Sales Manager


Your Sales Manager is Sheila Zakhar-Malone, here to answer any questions you may have about the financial and lifestyle considerations of moving into Oceangrove Village.
